Wet weather advice for Goodwood Revival!
Wet Weather in the 1940s 1950s and 1960s
We had everything crossed for good weather for Revival, however, the forecast doesn't look great! Don't forget - wet weather wouldn't have stopped people during wartime, or shortly after.
Parking (for the majority of people) is on the grass. Wet weather plus traffic = mud! Even parts of the Revival will be muddy!
Changing your outfit should be a last resort - you have spent so long planning it all out! However, switching for a land girl look so you can wear your hiking boots/wellies is an option. Equally, rocking your dress/outfit with wellies is totally acceptable! Our goal is to help you feel comfortable and enjoy your day!
Jackets and Coats
For jackets, with that vintage feel, check out:
Vintro Clothing (24 South Street, Chichester)
(mostly mens clothing but some great jackets/coats/leathers!) Don't forget, women wore men's clothing while they were away at war!
Footwear:
Our first rule of Goodwood Revival is that you need to be comfortable.
Wellies were worn during these decades just like they are today!
You can buy wellies in Chichester from the following places:
